Ristorante Don Giovanni

I spent two weeks in Positano, ate at over 20 restaurants, this place definitely made my top 3 places. Dinner on the terrace has a breathtaking view. The staff was polite and super attentive. The food was amazing. We each got something different and none of us were disappointed. We enjoyed every last bite. I would highly recommend coming here. It's definitely one of the priciest places to eat at, but worth every penny. There attention to detail was incredible. The food looked too good to eat.

The reservation was necessary, and the location makes it worthwhile. The terrace was absolutely amazing, providing breathtaking views of Positano's cliffside. The Fiano di Avellino D.O.C.G. 2024 wine was also a standout—full-bodied and excellent. The classic dishes like Ravioli Caprese were solid. Transparently, the experience is priced quite high (appropriately for the prime location), making it a great scenic stop, but you pay a premium for the unparalleled view and great dining experience.

Just ok, not a must. The waiters were all welcoming and attentive. The only exception was not one of the many waiters refilled our wine or mineral water for us, which we found was the case at other restaurants in the city. We were seated at a table outside the main dining room overlooking the city. We were excited to have that privacy until one waiter made several loud phone calls 12 feet to our right. Not sure why and if the family that owns this restaurant would have approved. The portions were small for the price and some of the dishes were not as described on the menu. For example, the insalata caprese was described as having yellow, red, and black tomatoes. There were no black tomatoes. See photo. The dessert we ordered also didn’t look like other photos we saw in other reviews. Could it be that we were there at the end of the season and they didn’t have some ingredients nor did they care to substitute any for them and they are just looking forward to when they say “arrivederci” to the last tourist? I would skip this restaurant.

Amazing experience! Best meal we had in Positano by far. Salvatore and Roberto had impeccable service. They made great recommendations and were especially attentive. Thank you for the beautiful experience on our honeymoon. All the food was delicious but I especially recommend the octopus and risotto!

Don Giovanni was an unforgettable dining experience. We enjoyed delicious food paired with a breathtaking view over Positano. Special thanks to Augustin and Mario, who were incredible servers. They were attentive, friendly, and gave us excellent recommendations that made the evening even more special. Everything from the atmosphere to the service and the food was top-notch. This is a place we will remember for a long time, and we can’t wait to come back!

This restaurant was beautiful, had fresh and delicious food, staff was welcoming, it was kept cooler, service was slower pace and not rushed like other locations we’ve experienced while on vacation in Italy, and our waiter Augustino was amazing. He was very patient, understanding, in answering our questions. Service was prompt. The wine was crisp and cold, just delicious, and the views wow spectacular. The owner and staff were so nice that they allowed us to take our photos and even assisted with my flying dress! We will certainly return! Thank you very much we appreciate your kind service in every way.

Fantastic food, view, and service. Gabrielle, Salvadore, and Marco were amazing and went above and beyond for us. It was the best meal we’ve had so far in Positano, we will absolutely be back.

Restaurant with a nice views from terrace on Positano and the sea. I think that they have the best service we had in Italy in this trip. Very attentive servers. Very pleasant and comfortable atmosphere. Food was also very good as well as wine.We really enjoyed our dinner. The only two disadvantages are price and portions. Very high prices and very small portions. I ordered octopus pasta and it was very good if we are talking about taste but it was crazy small and I had only 1-2 really small pieces of octopus. They were such small that I cannot enjoy octopus. Anyway I recommend this place for great atmosphere and amazing views and good services. But be prepared that portions are very small.
